Showcasing Lisa Tyrell - Winner of Challenge #3

Morning everyone!

Hope you're all ok, especially those caught up in the storms in the UK overnight.

Today we're showcasing the winner of Challenge #3 which was:

I love Lisa's card as it's so much fun.  It's also using an image by one of my lovely Blogland friends...the fabby Lindsay who owns LEJ Designs.  This is a great image and I'd look that chuffed if I was retiring too!  :o)  The image is brilliantly coloured and the layout and colour scheme fits it perfectly.

If you pop over to Lisa's blog to take a look you will find many very different cards and projects in all different styles and colours.  Lisa is clearly a lady of variety and there are so many beautiful cards on there it's a great place to visit if you're looking for a bit of inspiration when the old mojo's done a bunk!

Congratulations on winning Challenge #3 Lisa...looking forward to seeing more lovely entries from you.

********

Don't forget to check out the DT inspiration for Challenge #4 which began yesterday (click on badge at top of right sidebar) and also the Fortnightly Candy if you've not already entered (badge in right sidebar).

Hope you pop back tomorrow when we will be showcasing one of the Top Three from Challenge #3.

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

Showcasing Tracy - Top Three Challenge #2

Morning!

Back again with the final Top Three showcase from Challenge #2 and this time we have the most stunning altered art box which really is a beautiful project.  Everyone loves vintage and this is just so pretty and perfect in every way.

The talented lady who made this beautiful box is

I don't actually know how Tracy finds time to craft as she shares her life with her hubby, 3 kids and lots of gorgeous pets!  Absolutely love her rough collies...I used to have one and they're the most amazing dogs.  So, with that lot and the bunny and guinea pigs how one earth does she find time to craft?  Shall have to ask Tracy for some time management tips as I couldn't do it..especially when the crafting is done to Tracy's standards!  Maybe Tracy doesn't waffle on as much as I do...I could probably have made a card by now if I didn't go on so much.  :o)

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

Showcasing Rachelle - Top Three Challenge #2

Morning!

What can you say about this beautiful project but WOW!!!!!?  It's totally stunning and was created by the clearly uber talented

This project is way more than just a card...it's a full blown Christmas decoration which should be carefully stored and brought out and displayed every single year...it's fabulous!  Not only is the NOEL wording beautiful but the image is so fabulously coloured and really fits in perfectly.  Always nice to see something just a little bit different and this is certainly that...a work of art to be proud of.

Go and visit Rachelle's blog as it's packed with beautiful cards, many of which are to raise awareness of breast cancer as Rachelle herself is a survivor!  So not just a truly talented lady but a very strong and brave one as well and I know you'll all join me in sending Rachelle lots of positive vibes for her future and for all the other fighters and survivors out there.

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

Showcasing Karen C - Winner Challenge #2

DSCF5443
Morning everyone!

My apologies for slacking off last week.  We were on holiday in the Lake District and I didn't realise until we went just how poorly and exhausted I was so I kept work to a minimum and chilled when we weren't going round visiting wonderful places like Holker Hall, Muncaster Castle, Tarn Hows, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park and the Lakeland Motor Museum.  If you've never been to those places and get the chance please go as they really are fabulous places and we'll be going back to all of them and more next holiday (and a few day trips before then!).  We're home now and I'm feeling so much better and raring to go again...yay!

Anyway...I'm here today to showcase the winner of challenge 2 and that winner is the lovely and very talented:

I love this card as it has such a great vintage image with just the right amount of colour added to it.  So pretty!  And the layout and colour scheme is perfect too...as are the embellies.  Karen shows such great attention to detail with the positioning of all the little extras and die cuts.  This card looks effortless but I bet it took some fiddling around to get it right.  Fabulous.

Head over to visit Karen's blog as she's got more entries in the current challenge and they're stunners too.  In one of them she's created a collage of some of the products which can be found in the Scribble and Scrap shop which demonstrates just how useful png images are!

Right...on with some doodling.  I'm hoping to have a few new and original digis in the shop by the weekend!  :o)

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

Showcasing Eret - Top Three

Morning everyone!  Today we're showcasing the lovely Eret who was one of the Top Three in our first challenge.  Eret created this absolutely stunning card using the most beautiful papers and die cuts.  And if you look really closely you can see the incredible attention to detail in the embellishing.  And then, on top of all that, you have the adorable image which has been so perfectly coloured.  Really do love this card.

If you would like to see more of Eret's work (and you really should take a look!) you will find many more equally gorgeous projects over at her

So pop over and have a good look and see if you can pick up some inspiration.

This gorgeous image is one of the Vintage images from the shop. Vintage Beauty 1 - sky 0021

Showcasing Jane - Top Three

Morning everyone!

Today we're showcasing Jane who was one of the Top Three with this fabulous CAS card.  I really stuggle with CAS.  I absolutely love them but never seem to get them right...unlike Jane with this gorgeous little bunny and mouse creation.  Even though it's CAS a lot of time has been spent on the perfect colouring of the image and the stitching.  Incredible attention to detail for a CAS card but it's worked perfectly.  I'd certainly be happy for a card like this to land on my doormat!

If you would like to see more of Jane's beautiful projects you should pop across to her blog which can be found at:
Jane's sharing the love at the moment...you'll need to visit her to see what I mean.  :o)

Right...onwards and upwards.
Hope you all have a great day.

Showcasing NanaConnie - GDT

Morning everyone,

hope that you all had a great weekend and that you're ready for the week ahead?

Today I'm showcasing the fabulous NanaConnie who will be the GDT for our next challenge.  NanaConnie won the opportunity with this beautiful, autumnal card featuring this adorable and witty image which she has beautifully coloured and displayed.  Love the clean, neat layout and the perfectly co ordinating papers.  With postage costs going up and up and up more and more 'postable' cards are being created by all of us now, I think, and this one's a perfect example.  I just love the way NanaConnie has threaded the twine through the buttons to hold them in place...great idea.

You can see many more of NannaConnie's amazing projects on her blog:

I'm sure she would love a visit.

I've seen the beautiful card that NanaConnie has already made us for the next challenge and it really is fabulous, so don't forget to head back here on Sunday to check it out and to join in with challenge #3.

There is still plenty of time to enter the current challenge which can be found if you click on either the tab at the top of the page or the blinky at the top of the right hand sidebar.  And if you would like to be considered as the next GDT and be showcased on the blog then you must add GDT after your name when you enter.  If anyone forgets to do so, simply leave a comment saying you'd like to have it added and I can do it for you.  Entries close at 6 pm (GMT) this coming Friday.  Good luck.

And don't forget this fortnight's blog candy.  The information can be found on the blinky towards the top of the right hand sidebar.

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

Jill's 'About Me.'

Hi everyone!

Today's post is all about the lovely Jill who is part of the Scribble and Scrap Design Team.  Jill is lovely and really makes me laugh...and that's on top of being a fabulous crafter.  Jill's down to earth and says it how it is which is why I fell about when I saw her pic.  I'd never seen a photo of her before and bless her, she only looks about 10 and just so cute!  :o)  Not that I'm jealous!  Much!

Anyway, here's what the lovely Jill has to say about herself:
 ********

Hi, I'm Jill, 33, Married for 6 years and a mum to 2 lovely kids! Charlotte (nearly 10) and Christopher 4 . I started crafting when I was about 10, with my nan trying to teach me how to knit and crochet! Then moving on to cross stitch! I started papercrafting when I decided to make Charlotte’s Christening invitations myself 9 years ago and that was when the obsession began! My stash grew, and grew, and…well you get the picture! Lol I’m now lucky enough to have my own little craft cave where I can go and play! I discovered digi stamps about 18 months ago and promptly sold the majority of my rubber stamps except for my favourites! lol Started off colouring with Promarkers but soon moved onto copics which I adore! Guess you could say I’m a craft-a-holic! So looking forward to being part of this design team and new challenges and inspiration.

Please pay Jill's blog a visit.  She makes beautiful cards and would love you to drop by.

Vintage Photos

Morning everyone!

If you haven't already noticed I have added 30 sheets (each containing 6 images) of absolutely stunning vintage photos to the Scribble and Scrap shop.  And when I say 'stunning' I mean 'STUNNING!'

Each sheet is £1 each and there is a sale on right now (see top post) so head over and take a look.  I used one of the images to make the card below.

I have put this on the site as black and whites as I find they fit in with more colours then, but they can be changed to sepia in seconds in any photo editing software which you have on you computer.

Here are a few of the Photo Sheets.

That's it for today.  Take care and happy crafting!
Lexie.

Spotlight on Susan I - Winner of our Very First Challenge

Morning everyone!

Hope you're all ok and not working too hard...unless it's crafty work, of course.  :o)

Today I am spotlighting the winner of our very first challenge here at Scribble and Scrap...Susan I.

Here is the gorgeous card that Susan entered into the challenge and I think it has winner stamped all over it, don't you?

I absolutely love these gorgeous, vintage images and will be adding a lot more to the Scribble and Scrap over the coming days.

Susan has used Pan Pastels for the background.  I am going to have to get some...I've thought about it for ages but didn't see me using them as I don't do messy stuff (not in crafting anyway) but I am seeing more and more uses for them now and this shows me that I NEED some!

I think there's a little bit of everything on this gorgeous card.  I can see some embossing in the background and all sorts of bits and bobs amongst the embellies.  Susan has tucked lots of little bits amongst the flowers to add more interest and her great close up photos show all this detail beautifully.  I wish I had Susan's stash!  Lol.

And I just love how delicate the die cuts and doilies are, and that paper is so pretty.

Take a very close look and you'll be amazed at the amount of detail that Susan has got into this fabulous card.  I just love it!

Susan's blog is Rosebuds 'n' Ribbons.  Pop over and pay her a visit and see what other beautiful projects she has come up with!

Congratulations on being our very first winner Susan...very well deserved!

Don't forget the fortnightly blog candy everyone.  There is a blinky in the right sidebar towards the top which will lead you directly to the Candy post with more details.  Don't miss out on your chance to win a £10 voucher to spend in the Scribble and Scrap  shop.
